Roy Disney also died a few months after the opening of Walt Disney World. With another honorable man gone from the business, Walt Disney Productions was slightly disheartened, but came back with incredible force. They decided to take on the project of building EPCOT. But they took a more modest risk, much smaller than Walt would have done, highly modified. When they started the building of EPCOT, it was the largest construction site in the world at the time. EPCOT was divided into two sections, one being Future World. Future World is based on humanity’s past, present and future achievements. It contains exhibits, rides and shows all rotating around this one theme. The second section is called the World Showcase which features eleven different pavilions representing a country and shows their culture, architecture, food and lifestyle. These countries are Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada. Each country has a restaurant, show or attraction, and sometimes even a ride! After three years of construction, EPCOT opened in 1982 and drew millions of people from all around the world! With all the proceedings from their new park, Walt Disney Productions built Disney parks in both Japan (1983) and France (1992) and new ones continue to pop up all over the world, inviting millions to share in the magic of Disney.
